About

Hey there!

My name is Neil Kollipara. I’m a writer and I started this blog for a few different reasons.

First of all, I wanted to share my thoughts, opinions, and findings specifically as they relate to a few of my favorite topics… fitness, leadership, and digital minimalism. This blog is designed to attract like-minded people and help them along their journey.

Second, as a writer, there’s always this urge to create — if you’re a writer, you know that feeling, and it’s something you can’t simply shake. Your mind is a powerful thing, and I find that if I keep everything contained, I lose a bit of myself. Writing is benevolence.

Third, I wanted to put together a digital journal that some day my kids could look back at and say, “Wow, Dad did this!?” It’ll give them some insights into what I was thinking about and what I was doing when they were little, and hopefully it inspires them to share their gifts with the world.

My most important job in life…

… is to be a father.

I have two kids — currently ages 8 and 1.5 — and they have given me so much purpose in life.

If there are three things I could tell them over and over again, this is what they would be:

  • Put God first
  • Treat your body right
  • Be kind to everyone you meet

My fitness journey

Spend any time reading this blog and you’ll learn I lift weights.

I started lifting in 2019, after my wife started working at a local gym.

She had a massive impact on my fitness journey.

When COVID shut down the world in 2020, my wife brought home some equipment from the gym she was working at, and I put together a small at-home workout regimen that ultimately became the foundation for my

Where you were is not where you’ll always be…

Let’s rewind for a second.

Growing up, I was not the most athletic kid.

At school, I was almost always the last kid to finish The Mile Run.

I couldn’t do pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups… I was very lacking when it came to athleticism.

Once I started playing baseball, things shifted a bit…

I’ve done a lot of different things in my career, which has taken on more of a “pathless path” trajectory.

Mostly I like to write about digital minimalism, leadership, creativity, and a bunch of other random topics.

To find out what those are, I suppose you’ll need to read the blog.

Now, a little bit more about me:

  • I live in Royal Oak, a suburb of Detroit, with my wife and two kids.
  • I currently work as an SDR at a construction tech startup.
  • I hold a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Go Blue!

If you enjoy my work, you should Buy Me a Coffee… or just send me a message – would love to hear from you!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Peace!
